About The Role
The Data Science Software Engineer position at MassMutual offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, innovative team within the Research & Development organization. As a key contributor, you will develop systems, infrastructure, pipelines, and applications that underpin Data Science and AI initiatives across the enterprise. Your role involves shaping technical strategies, influencing how data and AI solutions are operationalized, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure software products. This hybrid full-time position is based in Springfield, MA, NYC, NY, or Boston, MA, providing flexibility to work in a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.


Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience working with data and relevant computational frameworks and systems.
• Extensive experience in building complex software systems, including pipelines, services, backends, and frontends.
• Proficiency in Python programming with at least seven years of hands-on experience.
• Strong background in developing backend applications and API services.
• At least five years of experience working with AWS cloud services such as EKS, EC2, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform, with five or more years of experience.
