Day to Day

Design and develop big data applications using a variety of different technologies. Develop logical and physical data models for big data platforms. Automate workflows using workflow managers like Airflow and Dagster. Write data pipelines using big data technologies like Hive, Spark, Snowflake, Kafka and other recent big data technologies. Create solutions on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway and Kinesis. Participate in rotational on-call support. Empower the business to make informed decisions by gathering, analyzing and publishing large amounts of engineering data. Provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements to existing systems. Learn our business domain and technology infrastructure quickly. Document, share knowledge freely and proactively while collaborating with cross-functional team members.

Responsibilities

Minimum Job Requirements:

Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data intelligence or related field.
Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Lead Data Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires 2 years of experience in the following:
1. BigData Technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL, Snowflake, or Databricks platform;
2. Build and Orchestrate Big Data Applications and Data Pipelines to process large amounts of data;
3. Cloud Computing Platforms like AWS or Azure;
4. Object-Oriented Design and programming languages such as Python; and
5. Building logical and physical data models for big data platforms.
