Accountabilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting user intake and data workflows.
• Own backend architecture decisions including data models and service boundaries.
• Implement secure application logic for systems handling sensitive data.
• Design and maintain well-documented APIs with explicit contracts and validation rules.
• Support mobile and web clients with reliable backend services.
• Contribute to frontend implementation ensuring accessibility and mobile constraints.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests for frequent deployments.
• Instrument backend services for observability and performance analysis.
• Operate effectively within public-sector compliance environments.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and direct contributions.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with architecture ownership at scale.
• Experience with mobile-first solutions and GIS map-based data integration.
• Proven accountability for production outcomes.
• Elevated decision-making authority in technical direction.
• 3+ years of experience with map-based search implementations in web applications (desired).
