Overview:
A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager with expertise around Data Modernization & Cloud Migration


The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives focused on transitioning reporting and data extract processes from legacy mainframe systems to modern cloud-based data platforms. This role requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and executive leadership.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale data modernization initiatives, including mainframe decommissioning, enterprise reporting transformation, and cloud migration efforts. The candidate will be responsible for delivering multiple concurrent projects on schedule and within budget by applying project management best practices, ensuring scope alignment, managing stakeholder expectations, and proactively tracking risks and issues.


Key Responsibilities
Project Management

• Lead end-to-end delivery of reporting and data extract migration initiatives from mainframe systems to cloud or data lake environments.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate cross-functional communication between technical teams, business units, and leadership.
