About this role
About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you are a senior individual contributor who provides technical leadership through influence—shaping architecture and engineering standards across multiple product areas while remaining hands-on. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable systems across a mixed modern and traditional technology stack.
Our portfolio includes React/Next.js (TypeScript) front ends; Python/Django and Node.js backend services; Optimizely DXP / Graph CMS integrations; Azure as our primary cloud platform; and operational tooling across GitHub, Azure DevOps, observability platforms, and email delivery solutions (e.g., SendGrid).
Why Work at K. Hovnanian
At K. Hovnanian, you’ll be part of a company with a long-standing reputation for quality, stability, and integrity—while also helping to modernize and evolve the technology that supports how people buy and experience their homes.

Influence at Scale
This role is designed for senior engineers who want meaningful influence without moving into people management. You’ll help define technical direction, guide architectural decisions, and raise engineering standards across teams and systems—your work will be visible and long-lasting.
Meaningful Technical Challenges
You’ll work across a diverse ecosystem that blends modern web technologies with critical legacy platforms. The challenge isn’t just building new features—it’s thoughtfully modernizing, integrating, and improving reliability while minimizing business disruption.
