Role overview:

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in all areas of the Finance function, including:

• The preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
• The preparation of the annual Financial Statements.
• Liaising with both internal and external auditors.
• All aspects of the Treasury function including both banking and investments.
• Reporting to reinsurers as required.
• The preparation and submission of regulatory returns.
• Involvement with the preparation of forward-looking business plans.
• The preparation of information for Board and Committee meetings.

To succeed in this role you will require:

• Strong Microsoft skills plus experience of working with accounting packages.
• Strong practical accounting background. Some experience of insurance accounting would be useful but not essential as training will be given.
• Some knowledge of banking platforms.
• To be comfortable operating in an autonomous and dynamic environment.
• A willingness to “get your hands dirty” if required, both within the finance function and the wider company operations.
• An ability to communicate well within the Company and the wider Extracover Group.
• A desire to self-improve and develop - hopefully to a point where the successful candidate would be capable of stepping up to the Head of Finance role.
• An ability to challenge current working methodologies and offering up and implementing alternative, more efficient solutions.
