XR Application Developer

$75–$105/hour

Role Responsibilities
- Develop XR applications using OpenXR. Handle architecture, implementation, testing, and iteration.
- Build interactive features like input handling, scene systems, and rendering optimizations.
- Integrate platform/runtime features such as tracking spaces and scene understanding.
- Create clean, testable code and contribute to CI/build scripts.
- Debug runtime/device issues and provide clear repro steps and fixes.
- Collaborate with product/UX and engineering stakeholders; document designs and tradeoffs.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience shipping 3D real-time applications.
- Practical experience with OpenXR.
- Strong C/C++ and/or C# skills.
- Experience with a real-time engine or framework like Unity, Unreal, or custom OpenXR rendering.
Preferred
- Shipped at least one OpenXR-based app or feature.
- Experience with OpenXR extensions.
- Graphics experience with Vulkan/OpenGL/DirectX.
- Android XR experience or low-level platform integration.
- Experience building reusable components for XR interaction.
